Horse Cars
The Saint Paul Street Railway began operation on July 15th, 1872.
The first horse left 4th and Wabasha at 4:00, carrying excited passengers over the two mile route.
The photo shows a horse car passing a horse-drawn wagon. (The low wagon is out of sight behind the hose car.)
